Text Message Dating Growing

The evolution of dating has certainly changed in the nearly 20 years that Advanced Telecom Services and its subsidiary Spark Network Services has been doing business.

Both companies started out in the dating 900 number-based business with Advanced Telecom Services concentrating on supplying newspaper voice personals and Spark Network Services offering dating services to radio stations.  Originally, these services were primarily 900 number based services, but soon evolved to also involve credit card payment as well.  Both initial dating services were via interactive voice response, or IVR, solutions, although with newspaper voice personals, there also was a corresponding classified section.

In the late 1990′s, Advanced Telecom Services introduced its WebFriends online dating solution to its newspaper customers.  Spark Network Services operated its own MatchLink internet dating solution for its radio stations.  This was the second major evolution of dating services supplied by the companies.

In the early 2000′s, however, the companies started to see more and more mobile marketing applications and with the boom of text messaging, a text message dating solution was introduced.  This week, a Los Angeles Times article about text message dating appeared.   The article quotes Advanced Telecom Services’ Bob Bentz about the company’s MatchLinkMobile text message dating service.
