APPS Growth Continues
In 2009, according to a study by GetJar, there were 7 billion downloads of apps. In 2012, that number is projected to increase to 50 billion. The estimated value of the apps market in 2012 is $17.5 billion.
Apple, of course, remains the top provider of apps. Apple’s 2 billion mobile users have 85,000 apps available and they are being provided by 125,000 developers worldwide.
