43% of Mobile Searchers Visit Store

mobile web site

A mobile web site is vital to a retail business success.

Only 12% of small companies and 21% of medium sized ones have a mobile web site, as reported by Mobile Discoveries Radio. This lack of a local mobile online presence flies in the face of a recent study commissioned by AT&T Interactive and Nielsen, which proved that location is a key component of the mobile-user experience. In fact, the study found that 43% of local mobile searchers walk through a found firm’s door and as many as 22% of these users go on to make a purchase.

“The majority of local business owners are very busy running and managing their businesses and do not have the time or the know-how to take advantage of this opportunity,” said Kim Dushinski,CEO of the International Mobile Marketing Business Network and President of Mobile Marketing Profits  “That’s why most small business owners will probably miss this boat completely without the help of a capable mobile marketing professional as their guide,” she concluded.
It is the scourge of many local entrepreneurs.  So busy with the day to day operation that they fall behind the large stores that have more resources to create things like mobile web sites.
But, it doesn’t have to be that way.  Local companies can compete on a national scale so long as they are willing to hire somebody to do it for them.  You can’t be expert in everything that you do.  And, running your local small business is what you do best.  Leave the design of your mobile web site to somebody who does it every day.
You’ll be glad you did based on the statistics noted above.
